My copy came today also and I agree about the book being the best for some time and every bit as good as THE book.

Congratulations Greg on another great Clarice book, so much better and more factual than some of the titles we have had to suffer in the past.

Anybody know the price of the new book in Australia, and...silly question I am sure but is the book available to buy at the Canberra launch.
Moderator's note: We understand the book is AU $55.00. The book will be available at to buy at the Canberra Antiques Centre on the 27th June. |

I was in my local town centre today, and on a whim decided to go into Waterstones to see if they had a copy I could have a flick through... I was impressed with the layout and information and shapes and although there aren't many pictures of pre Bizarre ware I decided to buy the copy they had.
When I got home I was pleased to find the factory picture of the Tut-Tut head as a car macot. My example has a small square base and the mascot base is larger and round so don't think mine was ever a car mascot (it is included in my album) this book says it was designed by Clarice but I have never been sure about that? Another quality publication from Greg - give yourself a pat on the back. |

I now have my copy of this wonderful book which is every bit as good as Comprehensively and perfectly illustrated and laid out. Some of the images from the archives are amazing.

Clarice Cliff for Collectors Greg Slater The first easy-to-handle, yet detailed reference on acquiring, managing and taking pleasure in a Clarice Cliff collection. Recommended by The Clarice Cliff Collectors Club. Greg Slater's last book, the bestselling Comprehensively Clarice Cliff, was the definitive volume on identifying the decorative patterns in Clarice Cliff's work. This new book is a concise, accessible and practical reference for collectors of every level of experience, from novice to expert, who want to build, display and care for a collection of Clarice Cliff's ceramics. Much more than a guide to patterns and shapes, this book will inspire you to create original thematic displays, and shows how themes based on colour, pattern, season or style, and the use of ceramics around the home, were at the heart of Cliff's creative vision. Written by a collector of unparalleled experience, and with reproductions of pattern book illustrations and original sales material from the Wilkinson and Newport potteries, this is a key purchase for all lovers of Clarice Cliff ceramics and Art Deco design.
